We are delighted to announce that The Practical Energy is now officially open for manuscript submissions. Our editorial platform is fully operational, and we warmly invite researchers, engineers, and energy professionals worldwide to submit their work for consideration in our inaugural volume.
The Practical Energy is a peer-reviewed, Gold Open Access journal covering the full spectrum of energy systems, renewable energy, and energy policy. All content is published immediately and freely accessible under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
All article processing charges are fully waived for manuscripts accepted before 1 January 2027. Authors who receive an acceptance decision during our founding period pay nothing to publish. All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. We believe financial barriers should never stand between important research and its global audience.
We welcome submissions across all article types:
To submit, please email your manuscript and cover letter to weopenaccess@gmail.com with the subject line: Submission — [Article Type] — [Abbreviated Title].
Full submission requirements are available on our Author Guidelines page.
We are actively recruiting distinguished researchers and energy professionals to join our founding Editorial Board. As a founding member, you will play a formative role in shaping the journal's scientific direction and editorial culture from the very beginning.
We welcome applications for the following roles:
Founding board members receive a full APC waiver on their own submissions during their term of service. To apply, please send your CV and a brief statement of interest to weopenaccess@gmail.com with the subject line: Editorial Board Application.
We are also building our reviewer database and welcome applications from researchers at all career stages. If you are interested in contributing to the peer review process, please contact us at weopenaccess@gmail.com with the subject line: Reviewer Application.
We look forward to working with the global energy research community to build a journal that serves science without barriers.
