Submit a Manuscript

How to Submit

Manuscripts are submitted online through your author account. Register or sign in on the Submission Portal, then follow the submission steps to select your journal, enter your article title, and upload your manuscript file. Please read the Author Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation pages in full before submitting — submissions that do not comply with the journal's requirements will be returned to authors without review.

If you run into trouble registering, or your submission package doesn't fit a single file upload, you may instead submit by email. Send all required files to weopenaccess@gmail.com using the subject line format:

Submission — [Article Type] — [Abbreviated Title]

For example: Submission — Original Research — Cardiovascular outcomes in type 2 diabetes

What to Include

Whichever route you use, your submission package should include all of the following:

1. Cover Letter

Your cover letter must be included as a separate Word or PDF document. It should include:

• The article type and full title
• A 2–3 sentence statement of the significance and novelty of the work
• Confirmation that the manuscript has not been submitted or published elsewhere, in whole or in part
• Confirmation that all authors have approved the submission
• Confirmation that all ethical requirements have been met, where applicable to your study (e.g., ethics/IRB approval, participant consent, trial registration)
• Suggested reviewers (3–5 names with affiliations and email addresses; optional but encouraged)
• Names of any individuals who should be excluded from peer review, with reasons

2. Main Manuscript

A single Word document (.doc or .docx) containing:

• Title page
• Abstract and keywords
• Main text
• Declarations section
• References
• Tables (at end of document)
• Figure legends (at end of document)

3. Figures

Each figure submitted as a separate image file at a resolution sufficient for clear reproduction.

4. Reporting Guideline Checklist

The completed checklist appropriate to your study type, where one applies. Common examples (PRISMA, CONSORT, STROBE, CARE, etc.) are available from the EQUATOR Network (www.equator-network.org); not every field has a formal checklist.

5. Supplementary Material (if applicable)

Any supplementary tables, figures, or data files should be labelled clearly and attached separately.

After Submission

Authors are notified by email at each stage of the process. Please ensure that weopenaccess@gmail.com is added to your email contact list to prevent correspondence from being filtered as spam.

Revision Submission

When submitting a revised manuscript, sign in to your author account and upload the revised files as instructed in your decision email. If your original submission was by email, send a new email to weopenaccess@gmail.com using the subject line:

Revision — [Original Reference Number] — [Abbreviated Title]

Your revision must include:

• The revised manuscript with tracked changes enabled
• A clean version of the revised manuscript (no tracked changes)
• A point-by-point response letter addressing each reviewer comment
